Lucky local man Gavin Mendham has scooped a £200 St Stephen’s Shopping Voucher prize in a recent joint Peter Ward Homes and St Stephen’s competition. Or at least he is lucky now!
As Gavin explained, “I have only recently come back from a holiday to Las Vegas where I didn’t win anything! I was so stunned to discover I had won the £200 prize that I immediately went out and bought some lottery tickets, just in case I am on a roll!”
Many entries were received for the initial chance to win £100 by entering the competition on Facebook. Entrants then had the chance to double the prize to £200 by attending the house builders Open Day at their Habrough Fields development, near Immingham.
Peter Ward Homes regularly hold Open Days to showcase their house types and offer free help and advice to site visitors. On this occasion, as an added incentive, St Stephen’s offered a competition prize and also provided a number of discount offers, for retail and leisure, which were available to anyone who visited the Open Day.
Rosemary Key the Sales Director at Peter Ward Homes had this to say “Our open days are always very popular. For some people it’s their first visit to site and their first taster of Peter Ward Homes. For others it’s the opportunity to move enquiries a little further and speak to our sales advisors. For example talk about the great range of purchase schemes we can offer, along with independent mortgage advice. Habrough Fields was no exception, with a four bedroom house being purchased over the weekend!”
In the market himself to buy a new home this was an irresistible combination for Gavin who took the opportunity to take a look at the Habrough Fields development and the houses on offer by Peter Ward. He said “I saw the competition online and thought I’d give it a go, Peter Ward Homes have stunning developments all over the region and this was a great opportunity to go and take a look around for myself. The competition was a bonus, and so I thought why not? I never believed I would be lucky enough to win!”
The vouchers were presented to a delighted Mr Mendham by St Stephen’s Centre Manager Jim Harris, who said “It was a natural choice to work in partnership with a great brand like Peter Ward Homes and the partnership with St Stephen’s has worked really well, highlighting the attractiveness of our centre offer to our south-bank customers”.
Unfortunately we found out Gavin’s lucky streak was short lived, with no big lottery win at present to add to his success. However he is delighted that he is going to be able to use the St Stephen’s vouchers towards purchasing a new iPad from Argos. So of course he can continue to keep up to date with news from Peter Ward Homes and their new upcoming developments in the area.
