Peter Ward Homes Site Manager, Paul Lambert recently won a Pride in the Job Quality Award for his work at their prestigious Old College site in Beverley.
Run by the NHBC, Pride in the Job celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make to creating homes of outstanding quality.
The company recognised that this achievement wasn’t just about Paul but about his team at Old College including the various sub – contractors and suppliers and they got them all together for a celebration!
“We are all very proud of Paul’s efforts” said Peter Ward the company’s MD, “Quality is at the heart of everything we do at Peter Ward Homes, all our sites are run to stringent standards. Pride in the Job recognises this but it goes to the Site Manager and we wanted all our team at Old College to celebrate what is a very important award for the company”
Old College is a fabulous site and the most prestigious residential development in Beverley. Adjacent to the Westwood and Racecourse, there are 36 ultra luxury, designer homes being built on this site. All are truly remarkable homes in what is a stunning location. This has made the teams achievements even more outstanding, as the homes have lots of very intricate construction detail.
“As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of the Old College site we have been assessed across 44 areas” said Glyn Harrison, Construction Director at Peter Ward Homes, “Inevitably this means that everybody on site makes a contribution whether they are part of the building team or they fit out and finish the inside of our homes. Not all these people are directly employed by us and we thought it would be a great idea to get them together with our staff and Directors and celebrate this fantastic achievement. Especially as many are locally based”
One such person was Kirk Dixon of Martin Dixon Limited. “We have been working with Peter Ward Homes for over 30 years now and they have always been a quality housebuilder, expecting the highest standards from me and my plumbers. This award is fantastic for Paul and the Company but its also great for us and typical of them to involve us in the celebrations. And we got a framed copy of the certificate for our office wall!”
It will come as no surprise that Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of customer satisfaction. Peter Ward continued “Old College is a very demanding site as these are some of the biggest homes the company has built. But its no different to the more standard sites we are building. Quality wins out in the end and this award demonstrates that.”
